Scappoose Bay is a wetland's watershed area rich in Chinook and early trapper history. It has been a home to many businesses since the Lewis and Clark days. Now it is the premier place to paddle in Oregon! Scappoose Bay Kayaking offers a variety of tours including an Nocturnal Paddle. Three and four hour tours include paddling into the north end of Sauvie Island, Warrior Rock Lighthouse and wetland tours in the bay. View eagles, osprey, heron, egret,turtles, beaver and river otter as well as migratory waterfowl.

Vernonia Mountain Bike Skills Park
Located in a park that once contained the world's largest covered lumber mill, the Vernonia Mountain Bike Skills Park emphasizes progression and a family-friendly environment. The park has connectivity to the Banks-Vernonia and Crown Zellerbach Trails and is adjacent to a primitive campground and down a trail from an RV campground. There are B&Bs close by as well.
