If you are looking for a fun used book store, Grammy’s Used Books is located at the corner of Hwy 30 and Columbia Blvd near Dutch Bros. Coffee. Although it may appear small on the outside, it is a shop of many rooms. They specialize in the para-normal or “critter” books as they call them, although you’ll find a little bit of everything here. Books are typically 50% off new retail prices. Because of a generous store credit as compensation for used books, a new selection of books joins bulging shelves regularly.

A great place to spend a little time is at the St. Helens Book Shop. Besides a nice selection of Northwest authors, the store has a wonderful children’s area complete with tables and chairs for “little people”. A charming selection of greeting cards, handcrafted jewelry, toys, puzzles and learning games can be found in the bright, warm atmosphere. As a locally-owned independent bookstore, they are big on service and will be happy to search for that hard-to-find book. If you are lucky, you might be able to catch a book discussion or a signing by a well-known author.
